BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Lighthouse Charity Team, a Texas nonprofit group that offers aid after natural disasters, is partnering with Katie’s Seafood Market in Galveston and nearby fishermen to donate sustainably caught fish to Cameron, Louisiana residents who were affected by Hurricanes Laura and Delta this hurricane season.

“Lighthouse Charity Team is proud to partner with Katie’s Seafood Market and the Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Shareholders’ Alliance to help our fellow neighbors in Louisiana, who have a long road of recovery ahead after this past hurricane season,” Lighthouse Charity Team President Scott Gordon said.  “We’re giving them a home-cooked meal, which isn’t just good for your appetite, it’s good for your body and soul.  We want to show them that people still care.”

Lighthouse Charity Team distributed more than 800 meals to hurricane victims on Friday after Katie’s Seafood Market processed American Red Snapper that Galveston fisherman Captain Bill Wright Jr. caught, according to media contact Eric Brazer.

“This is about people helping people,” Buddy Guindon, owner of Katie’s Seafood Market in Galveston, said.  “This program helps fishermen make a living and keeps people fed. We’re proud to be part of this, especially with the challenges 2020 has thrown everyone’s way.”
